At the root of our mission to decrease reading level disparities for little readers in the Black community are the educators and other adults around them. That's why it's also been our mission to pour into educators who in turn pour their all into the vessels of our future.
This year, we launched our Texas Teacher Grant issuing $500 for one teacher to reinvest into their classroom. The entry requirements were simple and one winner was randomly selected.
Our winner, Tyra, a seasoned reading and language arts educator plans to use the grant to build a diverse and inclusive library and offer her students classroom manipulative and flexible seating options. Congratulations, Tyra!
